Changes in the Japanese Imperial Family

As reported in Reuters and many other international news agencies, there's a big change coming in the Japanese Imperial Family! Princess Mako of Akishino has decided to marry a "commoner" which means she must officially step down from her role as a member of the Imperial Family. This commoner, however, is a high-level lawyer in his own right!

This isn't a new trend, in fact many European Royal Families have seen a long series of abdications from even their highest levels in the last century - not including forcible removals due to war and political strife - and the trend isn't likely to stop anytime soon as reported in the Daily Mail, a UK-newspaper magazine/tabloid (with, fair warning, a sketchy reputation itself).
